New Diamond Board unveiled
Mines minister Tom Alweendo this morning unveiled new members of the Diamond Board of Namibia. The board will advise the ministry on policy matters regarding the diamond industry.
The members include mines ministry deputy executive director Erastus Shivolo who serves as its chairperson, deputy chairperson Maenge Kali, mines ministry representative Isabella Chirchir, finance ministry representative Festus Nghifenwa, Namibian Police representative Barthlomeus de Klerk, Namibia Diamond Trading Company CEO Brent Eiseb, Mine Workers Union of Namibia representative Desley Somseb, diamond cutting representative Nekulilo Ithete, large-scale producing representatives Pauline Thomas and Wollen Nell, jewellery manufacturing representative Benita Herma and small-scale producer Emily Kapulwa.
Alweendo urged the board to meet regularly and provide timely feedback to the ministry.
