Input sought for national digital strategy

Information and communication technology ministry executive director Dr Audrin Mathe yesterday spoke at a national digital strategy validation workshop.
On the occasion, he said government is geared towards a digital future and is on the cusp of such a transformation.
“The government is committed to achieving a digital future. We are grateful for the support from GIZ and Impact Tank for working with us to drive this initiative,” he said.
“The product we are validating today results from intensive stakeholder engagements and consultations. This validation workshop solicits your voice, expertise and commitment to a digital government.”
He added: “Your insights will ensure that our vision is anchored in reality and that our ambitions are achievable. Remember, while the government steers this document, the collective will and action of all Namibians will give it meaning".
The national digital strategy is a draft document and is yet to obtain Cabinet approval. "The validation workshop was aimed at incorporating all inputs before the strategy is taken to the next step for certification," ministry spokesperson Shoki Kandjimi said.
