Windhoek’s dam levels at 28%

Windhoek’s average dam levels have dropped to just below 30%, with slim to none chances of good rain this season.
The total average of Namibia’s dams has dropped to 62.8%, compared to last season’s 75.7%.
In the central areas of Namibia, the average dam level is now a low 30.9%, while last season, it stood at 49.1%.
The Swakoppooort Dam is at 54.2% of its capacity, the Von Bach Dam is 18.6% full and the Omatako Dam empty.
This three-dam system supplies Windhoek with water, with the total average 28% compared to last season’s 46.5%.
Meanwhile, the Friedenhau and Goreangab dams are at 62.7% and 96.7% respectively.
In the south, the average dam level stands at 70.5%, compared to last season’s 84.7%.
