Warmbad community protests
A group of Warmbad settlement community members protested on Saturday, voicing concerns they believe hinder socio-economic development.
The protestors expressed their frustrations over several issues, including the alleged misuse of the AK Business Centre (also known as the yellow building), the neglected Warmbad Hotsprings Lodge, a lack of access to clean drinking water, and their alleged exclusion from the government's land distribution programme, among other issues.
They called for government intervention to resolve the centre’s ownership dispute.
Charles Laberloth, speaking on behalf of the protestors, read the petition and said: “The way things are managed, especially in Warmbad, gives us the feeling that it is the Odendaal Plan again, just in another government, just systematically. And it is painful that Warmbad has been neglected for these past years by the government and people we entrusted.”
