Triumphant College launches STEM hub
Triumphant College, in collaboration with STEMpower, has unveiled a student-entrepreneur hub aimed at advancing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and entrepreneurship among students in Namibia.The initiative provides practical tools and resources to help students transform ideas into innovative solutions and businesses.
The hub includes two cutting-edge facilities: a virtual computing lab and a technical maintenance workshop that will offer students hands-on learning and research opportunities in technology, engineering and other STEM disciplines.
Triumphant College rector Professor Geoffrey Kiangi highlighted the hub’s significance.
“Our students face barriers to quality STEM education. This hub bridges gaps in mathematics, technology, and physics, equipping them for future professional opportunities.”
Elizabeth Veiko, head of the IT department, expressed gratitude for STEMpower’s collaboration.
“The STEM centre unlocks remarkable opportunities for our students and faculty. We are grateful for STEMpower’s dedication to empowering young innovators.”
STEMpower, with over 130 STEM centres across Sub-Saharan Africa, is renowned for its role in addressing educational disparities and fostering entrepreneurship.
The organisation also partners with global leaders like Visa to deliver programmes that train young innovators and support startups.
