Tourism: Indian Ocean islands on familiarisation tour in Namibia
News in short
A group of 13 tourism product managers from Mauritius, Seychelles and Reunion Island arrived in Namibia yesterday for an eight-day familiarisation tour.
The initiative emanated from a Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) destination presentation and trade networking event held in Mauritius last year.
The Mauritian tourism fraternity in attendance expressed their interest to learn more about Namibia. They requested an online workshop with presenters from the key tourism associations in the country, who presented on various topics that aim to unpack their needs in order to package Namibia as a tourism destination going forward.
Following the success of the workshop, South African Airways partnered with NTB and offered 13 return flight tickets to top tourism product managers in the Indian Ocean Islands for a visit to Namibia to experience the country.
