Swakopmund welcomes trade fair
News in short
The Coastal Trade Fair kicked off at the Mondesa Multi-Purpose Centre in Swakopmund yesterday. Organised by Mary Shikongo, the fair promises a dynamic showcase of local talent and entrepreneurship, and will run until Saturday, 29 June.
"We are thrilled to host this inaugural Coastal Trade Fair," Shikongo said. "We anticipate between 70 to 100 exhibitors from across Namibia."
Despite some last-minute hiccups, the venue buzzed with excitement as exhibitors readied their stalls. The fair offers a platform for arts and crafts vendors, with free stalls provided to encourage their participation.
"We have a diverse line-up including food and beverage stalls, traditional delicacies and even a children's corner," Shikongo said. "Notable participants include Standard Bank, Erongo Red and local artisans from Windhoek showcasing their goods." She urged coastal residents to attend and ensure the event's success.
