Simon Junior to face Singh
Namibian boxer Harry Simon Jr is scheduled to fight India’s Rahul Singh over eight rounds in the welterweight division on Friday.
The event is organised by Bare Knuckle Promotion, an Indian-based promotion company.
The 26-year-old Simon Jr, who has 19 undefeated fights under his belt, is set to fly out of the country today to face the 26-year-old Singh.
"It’s basically a ratings match; I took this fight because it’ll give me good international exposure, plus to have a 7-1 guy on my resume will look good,” Simon Jr said.
"He is a tricky southpaw, but I know I can take him out easily as long as I stick to my game plan," he added.
Simon Jr last fought in May, whereby he defeated Malawian opponent Israel Kammwamba in the first volume of Homecoming, titled 'Simon Homecoming', at the Jan Wilken Indoor Complex, Walvis Bay, via a knockout.
Singh last fought and won on 27 May against countryman Vishwas Lahori via unanimous decision.
