Robbery at Kasamane

A depot store at the Kasamane location, situated at the border post of the same name in the Omusati Region's Okalongo constituency, was robbed on Friday after armed suspects stormed the store and threatened the shopkeeper.
“It is alleged that the suspects, armed with knives, attacked the shopkeeper and strangled her, demanding the keys to the shop and storeroom," a police report read.
The suspects then took the woman's room keys and gained entry to her room. Apart from cash, the suspects also made away with 10 two-kilogram bags of brown sugar, 20 containers of menthol snuff, a teller machine and a 750ml bottle of beer. The total value of the stolen items is N$31 644, but police reported that all items and an amount of N$28 068 were recovered. No arrests have been made yet.
