Provide proof of enrolment

The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) is urging young annuitants to submit their proof enrolment at their nearest GIPF office on time to avoid any delays in the processing of their benefits.

“One of the key components of the fund’s corporate strategy is to ensure that its members are well informed, and aware of their benefits. Having said that, this is the time of the year again where GIPF implores all annuitants who are students and are between the ages of 18 and 25 to submit their signed proof of studentship timeously,” head of communications Edwin Tjiramba said.

According to him, only authorised signatories - which include principals of schools, faculty officers at institutions of higher learning, rectors, directors, branch coordinators, heads of departments or any other persons acting in those capacities - would be eligible to sign studentship letters.

“If a student took a break in his/her studies due to any unforeseen circumstances, then he or she should submit proof of studentship for payment of benefits to continue until they turn 25 years old,” Tjiramba said.
