Ice Entertainment organisers are gearing up to host the Ngandu Bash on 6 July, a hip-hop event designed to celebrate and uplift local talent in Rundu.

Ice founder and organiser Tangeni Mbudhi said the event promises to be a landmark occasion, fostering cultural enrichment, community engagement and youth development while also supporting local educational initiatives.

“Ngandu Bash is centred around empowering and promoting local artists in Rundu. The event's theme celebrates local talent and cultural heritage, offering a high-energy and engaging entertainment experience. Additionally, it aims to support community initiatives like the Mayana Mpora Foundation through event proceeds,” he said.

“As organisers, we are looking forward to a successful event that not only entertains but also brings about real change in the local arts scene. We hope to see increased recognition and support for local artists, a stronger sense of community and tangible benefits for educational initiatives in Rundu," he explained.

"Ultimately, we aim to set a new standard for how local events are managed and how artists are treated,” Mbudhi added.

Mbudhi said all participating artists will receive fair remuneration and exposure.

“Local artists participating in Ngandu Bash will receive fair remuneration and ample exposure, ensuring that their talents are recognised and valued. The event is designed to bring the community together, enhance social cohesion and provide high-quality entertainment experiences. By showcasing successful careers in music and the arts, the event hopes to inspire and mentor the youth, demonstrating that these paths are viable and fulfilling."

He said they have a clear vision to become the leading cultural promoter in Rundu, setting a standard for fair and equitable treatment of artists.

“Our mission is to drive significant positive change in the local entertainment industry, ensuring that local talent is recognised and valued, and creating sustainable opportunities for artists,” Mbudhi said.

He described the Ngandu Bash as a significant milestone for hip-hop culture in Rundu.

“It provides a crucial platform for hip-hop artists to showcase their talent, gain exposure and be appreciated by a broader audience. This event helps build a vibrant hip-hop community, inspires the youth, and proves that hip-hop is a vital and respected part of the local cultural landscape,” he said.

For anyone interested in attending Ngandu Bash, the organisers promise an unforgettable experience filled with incredible performances by local talent, dynamic entertainment, and the opportunity to support meaningful community initiatives.

"Your presence not only makes the event a success but also contributes to the growth and recognition of local arts and culture. Come and be a part of this exciting journey with us,” Mbudhi said.
