N$44 000 towards first-aid training in Usakos

Precious Nghituanapo
MedGuard, a leading healthcare services provider, has donated a N$44 000 training voucher to the Usakos Town Council to help strengthen the town’s mayoral youth empowerment and training programme.

MedGuard handed over the voucher to Usakos mayor Irene Simeon-Kurtz to facilitate the training of 20 young residents from the town, specifically in first aid class A and industrial firefighting.

The youth empowerment and training programme aims to nurture the talents and skills of the younger generation within the Usakos community.

Selected participants will undergo comprehensive training sessions designed to equip them with essential life-saving skills and proficiency in handling emergencies, including industrial fire incidents. Such specialised training not only enhances the employability of the youth but also fosters a culture of safety and preparedness within the community.

Positive input

Simeon-Kurtz applauded the company's proactive involvement in promoting youth development initiatives. She emphasised the significance of private sector collaboration in augmenting government efforts towards creating sustainable opportunities for the youth.

In reaffirming MedGuard's steadfast commitment to social responsibility, the team reiterated the company's ethos of giving back to the community it serves. Through strategic partnerships and targeted investments in youth empowerment programmes, MedGuard aims to catalyse positive change and foster a conducive environment for personal and professional growth.
