N$27m EU twinning agreement completed
News in short
The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) and the European Union (EU) last week celebrated the end of a two-year N$27 million twinning agreement for the enhancement of Namibia's participation in international trade agreements.
The agreement was initiated in February 2022 and is set to end at the end of this month.
"This twinning project is one of the first in southern Africa under the EU Commission's pilot initiative, focused on supporting the NSI and the ministry of industrialisation and trade.
"It has played a pivotal role in enhancing Namibia's participation in international trade agreements, boosting Namibia's economic growth, and strengthening the capacity of the NSI in fulfilling its mandate," the EU delegation to Namibia said in a statement.
