The Newton Sports Agency’s Kirsten van Heerden said that Namibian Olympic finalist Beatrice Masilingi is rehabilitating well from the injury she sustained in July.

Van Heerden was responding to questions by Namibian Sun Sports Desk about the status of the athlete’s health and whether she is receiving the best treatment thus far.

“Masilingi is progressing well with her rehabilitation, and we hope that she will run a few more races before the end of the season. We are continually monitoring her daily and she is looking forward to competing again in the near future,” Van Heerden said.

Van Heerden did not provide additional information as to which competitions the athlete, who is now based in Pretoria, South Africa, will be taking part in.

The Namibian sprinter picked up an injury again at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United States, in July.

The reoccurring hamstring injury is linked to the one she suffered during the women’s 100m at the Gaborone International Meet in Botswana on 30 April, which kept her out of the game for about three months.

“My hamstring started to bother me, so I didn’t want to push any longer because I might damage it again,” she said in a post-race interview.
