Man found dead in suspected hit-and-run

The lifeless body of a 40-year-old Namibian man was discovered early on Sunday morning lying in a pool of blood on John ya Otto Street in Swakopmund’s new industrial area.
The body was discovered by two passersby between 2:00 and 3:00, who promptly reported the matter to the police. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim sustained severe head injuries, suggesting he was likely hit by a car in a suspected hit-and-run accident. The police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, reckless and/or negligent driving, failure to ascertain injuries and damages after an accident, and fleeing the scene of an accident.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to come forward to assist with the investigation.
