Kandjii-Murangi: ACC ‘satisfied’ so far
News in short
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) says it will serve summons to respective heads of public enterprises that funded trips for higher education minister Dr Itah Kandjii-Murangi.
This in order for them to depose affidavits and confirm proof provided to the ACC by the ministry.
The anti-graft body said it is so far “satisfied” with documents received from the ministry and found it “plausible” that the minister had requested line institutions to foot her travel bills.
“For the executive director to request either the Namibia University of Science and Technology or the University of Namibia to pay the minister’s travel allowance, while giving assurance that the institution will be refunded, is an internal administrative arrangement between the executive director, in his capacity as the accounting officer, and the management of the respective institution,” it said yesterday.
