JUST IN: Good progress on Kutako shrine
Omaheke governor Pijoo Nganate says work to construct the shrine to pay homage to late Ovaherero paramount chief Hosea Kutako is progressing well.
"Work on the shrine is moving well," he said on enquiry.
The shrine is being constructed at Kutako's village in Aminuis.
Kutako is credited as a founder member of Namibia's oldest political party, the South West African National Union (Swanu).
Government budgeted N$18 million for its construction for the 2022/23 fiscal year, while a further N$7 million and N$8 million have been earmarked for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 fiscal years respectively.
