Group wants Chief Iipumbu dethroned

On Saturday, a group led by Tangy Mike Tshilongo gathered at Rochas Hotel in Oshakati to lobby for the removal of Uukwambi Traditional Authority chief Herman Ndilimani Iipumbu. The group, which is campaigning to dethrone Iipumbu, was, however, unable to hold a press conference due to police intervention. They base their demand on their claim that Iipumbu is not from the royal family. When contacted for comment, Iipumbu expressed surprise at the group's efforts and invited Namibian Sun to his own press conference, slated for Tuesday.
