Goethe-Institut to relocate
News in short
The Goethe-Institut Namibia has announced that it will be relocating to a new and larger location in October 2025.
The institute will be relocating to the German-speaking Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (DELK) community centre in Windhoek, marking a significant transition from its current home in the Estorffhaus on Fidel Castro Street.
The historic Estorffhaus was the home of the Goethe Centre for nearly 25 years, serving as a venue for cultural exchange and language instruction. “As we look to the future, this move represents an important step forward, allowing the Goethe-Institut to expand its offerings and enhance its role within the community,” the institute said in a media release issued last week.
Director Dennis Schroeder added: "We are excited to be moving into this new, larger space, which will allow us to expand our offerings and better serve the community. The new Goethe-Institut Namibia, housed in the [community centre], will be a place where learning, creativity and dialogue can flourish".
