Geingos warns against ‘crooks’ impersonating her

NEWS IN SHORT
Tuyeimo Haidula
Former first lady Monica Geingos has warned people to avoid falling victim to scammers opening fake accounts and impersonating her on several social media platforms. Geingos asked those who have fallen victim to report the fake accounts. She noted that someone recently received a fake AI-manipulated video call purporting to show Geingos convincing them to take part in Forex schemes. She emphasised that she is not a Forex trader and is not sending any videos or using social media to ask for money or loans as per the fake accounts. “Please keep your money safe. Don’t give it to these crooks. Their only intention is to rob you. Stay safe,” Geingos urged. - Tuyeimo Haidula
