Boy (8) allegedly raped in Omusati

Police in the Omusati Region are investigating a complaint under the Combating of Rape Act, Act 8 of 2000, following allegations that an eight-year-old boy in Olukulo village, Tsandi constituency, was sexually abused.
According to preliminary reports, the assaults were allegedly perpetrated on several occasions in February at the residence of a local community member. The suspect, who is known to the authorities, has not yet been arrested.
The matter was reported by the child’s mother, a resident of Olukulo village. Authorities have confirmed that the child is receiving the necessary medical and psychological support.
