Man electrocuted by ‘stolen’ electricity

A 35-year-old man died after getting electrocuted as he was passing money to a neighbor through a fence in Tsumeb's Kuvukiland location in the Oshikoto Region.
According to the police, illegally-connected electrical cables run alongside the fence and were not properly sealed, causing the entire fence to be electrified.
The incident took place on Monday at around 13:30. The deceased has been identified as Obed Ronny.
The police said Ronny was giving money to a neighbour through the fence and was electrocuted in the process.
He was taken to the Tsumeb State Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
His next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.
