Botswana communications minister to jet in
News in short
Botswana’s communications minister Thulagano Segokgo is set to pay a reciprocal visit to Namibia from 15 to 19 November, amid a frantic push to scrap mobile data roaming charges between the two countries.
Talks started in earnest in August when Namibian information and communication technology minister Peya Mushelenga visited Gaborone. That meeting was in response to a position adopted by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in June, which urged the bloc’s member states to harmonise their roaming charges, Dr Audrin Mathe, the ministry's executive director, said.
