Riedel murder trial continues

The trial of two men who stand accused of murdering an elderly couple on their farm in the Gobabis area - and then setting their house alight with their bodies still inside - continued in the Windhoek High Court yesterday.
Bernardus Afrikaner (38) and Salaphual Unaeb (47) face various charges that include murder, rape, arson and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
Namibian Poilice chief investigating officer in the case, Chief Inspector Gawie Jantjies, was set to testify yesterday.
The murder of 68-year-old farmer Armin Siegfried Riedel and his wife Brunhild (66) took place in January 2018 on the farm Grünfeld near Gobabis. Afrikaner and Unaeb were arrested seven months later.
