#JustIn: Ruling in PDM v agri minister in September

Judge Orben Sibeya was expected to deliver a ruling today in the application brought by the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) against the minister of agriculture, water and land reform and other government entities. However, this ruling has been postponed to 19 September.

The application concerns about 20 000 hectares of land on which Russian billionaire Rashid Sardarov plans to develop a guest farm, Marula Lodge.

The PDM claims that Sardarov donated money to the ministry to acquire land in the Dordabis area and then rented the land back to Sardarov’s company, Comsar Properties SA, on a 99-year lease
