#JustIn: IUM appears in court for case against CoW
The case between the International University of Management (IUM) and the municipal council of Windhoek continued in the Windhoek High Court this morning.
The university made the case against the CoW after its building plans for the construction of a multipurpose hall were not approved.
According to the affidavit of the founder and chairman of the university, David Namwandi, IUM had already taken a loan of around N$65 million for the construction of the hall at their location in Dorado Park Extension 1.
The plans were allegedly not approved due to rezoning issues and storm water conditions on the property.
This morning’s proceedings focused on a joinder application for the Urban and Regional Planning Board to join the case as the fourth respondent.
