#JustIn: Heckmair trial continues
Murder accused Marcus Thomas allegedly showed a “black hollow pipe” to a customs official who asked to inspect the package which the state alleges he used to smuggle a gun silencer into the country for the express purpose of killing André Heckmair.
This was stated during the testimony of one of the state’s last three witnesses.
Thomas stands accused of the murder of Heckmair in January 2011 - more than 12 years ago. His trial alongside his co-accused Kevan Townsend, has been dragging along in the High Court since 2014.
A police official has just testified that fingerprints and palmprints were found on the vehicle of the deceased. The official testified that the prints were cross-referenced to that of the accused Kevan Townsend. The prints allegedly did not match.
