#JustIn: Court grants forfeiture order against Amushelelo

Kristien Kruger
The prosecutor general, Martha Imalwa, was successful in her application for forfeiture of property order against Michael Amushelelo.

The High Court delivered judgement this morning and ordered that seven vehicles be forfeited to the state along with the positive balance in thirteen bank accounts in Amushelelo and his entities names.

This order is made in terms of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) and is connected to claims of fraud, money laundering, racketing and tax evasion made against Amushelelo.

“Imalwa claims that Amushelelo made false representations to members of the public who were duped into paying their hard earned money to him on the false premise that they would receive favourable interest on their investments in the forex market.”

In the court’s judgement they found that Amushelelo had on a balance of probabilities committed at least one of the crimes.

The vehicles include two BMWs, two Audis, two Mercedes Benz and one Land Rover.
