Justice ministry launches new website to improve service delivery
The justice ministry has launched a brand-new website sporting a modern look and feel with the aim of improving public access to information and promoting transparency.
The new website was unveiled last week.
During the launch event, the ministry's spokesperson, Edmund Khoaseb, boasted that the new website is a product of internal efforts within the ministry and did not incur any additional costs.
The ministry's executive director, Gladice Pickering, highlighted the importance of this revamped website on behalf of justice minister Yvonne Dausab.
"It is an important resource in terms of the ministry’s efforts to better serve the Namibian public."
The website promises to be more user-friendly and is designed so that users can easily navigate between features and access information, even for those with limited technical skills."
Procurement, legislation
The website also provides access to the Namibia Legal Information Institute (NamibLII) website, which offers free access to legislation, judgments and government gazettes.
"This integration supports public understanding of the law and upholds the rule of law in Namibia," the ministry noted in a statement.
All necessary procurement documents and reports will also be published on the website, reflecting the ministry’s compliance with the public procurement law.
"This initiative reinforces the ministry’s commitment to ethical procurement practices and the effective management of public resources."
Justice for all
In her speech, Pickering emphasised that the revamped website is more than just a digital platform; it is a crucial part of the ministry’s mission to ensure #Justice4All.
"The website serves as a gateway for citizens to engage with the ministry, access important legal resources, and understand their rights and responsibilities under the law," she explained.
"The revamped website represents our dedication to transparency, accessibility, and the improvement of justice in Namibia."
The ministry has invited the public to visit the new website and benefit from it.
"Public feedback is welcome, as it will help the ministry refine its services to better meet the needs of the Namibian people."
