JUST IN: Fishrot case postponed until February
The Fishrot case was once again postponed in the High Court in Windhoek this morning – this time until 14 February.
The reason for the postponement is the pending outcome of a petition filed at the Supreme Court regarding the chairing judge’s refusal of his recusal application.
Ricardo Gustavo’s legal representative, Trevor Brockerhoff, filed the petition after their unsuccessful application that Judge Kobus Miller recuses himself from the case.
It is the second time that the case was postponed for this reason.
Mike Nghipunya, Bernard Esau, Sacky Shanghala, James Hatuikulipi, Tamson Hatuikulipi, Nigel van Wyk, Otneel Shuudifonya, Pius Mwatelelo and Phillipus Mwapopi will remain in custody until their next appearance. Gustavo’s bail was extended until 14 February.
