Fishrot trial delayed once again

The Fishrot corruption trial, which was postponed earlier this week due to the unavailability of the judge, has been delayed once again. The case is now set to continue next Tuesday in the High Court at Windhoek Correctional Facility. This was announced by Judge Claudia Claasen, who was standing in for Judge Moses Chinhengo.
The accused – Sacky Shanghala, James Hatuikulipi, Pius Mwatelulo, Bernhardt Esau, Ricardo Gustavo, Tamson Hatuikulipi, Mike Nghipunya, Otneel Shuudifonya, Phillipus Mwapopi and Nigel van Wyk – face a total of 42 charges. These include racketeering, contravening the Anti-Corruption Act, conspiracy, corruptly using an office for gratification, fraud, theft, money laundering and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
