Environmental crimes court set to open Monday in Otjiwarongo
The Office of the Judiciary is preparing to inaugurate Namibia's first dedicated Magistrate's Court for Environmental Crimes in Otjiwarongo on Monday, 19 August. Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is expected to officially open the permanent environmental crimes court on Monday.
The court aims to combat wildlife crime and environmental crime in general in Namibia by providing a specialised legal venue to protect the country’s natural resources. The new court will be situated across from the existing Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court.
