#JustIn: Parliament remembers Hornkranz Massacre
The Speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Peter Katjavivi, this afternoon reminded parliament that today marks the gruesome attack on Hornkranz in 1893 by German Schutztruppe, under the leadership of Curt von Francois.
During the attack on the settlement of Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi, women, children and many of the men were killed.
"That event marks one of the tragic chapters in the annals of our history. We will continue to honour the sacrifices and the ultimate price paid by our people for our freedom and independence."
