Ohorongo donates medical equipment

The health ministry on Tuesday received a donation of medical supplies from Ohorongo Cement to the value of N$4 million.
The donated items include hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers and surgical instruments, among others.
Deputy health minister Esther Utjiua Muinjangue received the donation on behalf of the ministry and said each donated item tells a story of a life that will be saved.
"When health facilities receive donated supplies, they can redirect their limited resources to other areas of need, such as hiring more healthcare workers, improving infrastructure, or investing in training and capacity-building, thereby improving the overall quality of healthcare service delivery," she said.
Sion Amalovu, logistics manager of Ohorongo Cement, said since the start of the company's partnership with the health ministry in 2009, the company has invested N$82.9 million in various social projects.
"I also want to take the opportunity to appreciate Deon Blaauw of Blaauw's Transport for his valuable support of this event. Blaauw's Transport donated logistical support to transfer the container with donated goods from the Walvis Bay port to Windhoek," he said.
