MVA donates equipment to Oshakati hospital
Enhancing healthcare standards
This week, the MVA handed over medical equipment, including patient monitors, stretchers and other essentials, to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital, valued at more than N$380 000.
In a move to boost healthcare infrastructure and support government’s efforts, the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund donated medical equipment worth over N$380 000 to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital this week.
The donated items include patient monitors, oximeters, stretcher trolleys, spine boards, neck collars and other essentials, and are valued at N$388 146.
MVA Fund CEO Rosalia Martins-Hausiku said this initiative aligns with the fund's corporate social investment policy and its broader mission to contribute to the well-being of Namibians by actively participating in community development projects.
“The fund believes that by focusing on healthcare, it can make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and contribute to the overall advancement of the nation,” she said.
She added that healthcare is a cornerstone of societal well-being, and the MVA is honoured to play a role in advancing medical services at the hospital.
According to Martins-Hausiku, the initiative demonstrates the fund’s dedication to enhancing the standard of healthcare in the community and the nation at large.
Highest level of care
Oshakati Intermediate Hospital medical superintendent Dr Ruben Kanime, who received the donation, expressed his “profound gratitude” to the MVA Fund.
“As a healthcare provider, we strive to provide the highest level of care to our patients, and this would not be possible without the generous help of MVA. Your donation alleviates financial burdens for our hospital, enabling us to allocate our limited resources towards improving other aspects of patient care,” he said.
