Hygiene packs donated to Swakop inmates

Frieda Molotho
Swakopmund's mayor Dina Namubes has donated 102 hygiene packs to inmates incarcerated at the Swakopmund Correctional Facility.

The donation was prompted by a heartfelt plea issued by the Uhili Necessity Wellness Trust.

The packs include tubs of petroleum jelly, toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrushes and bars of soap.

Namubes said the donation not only signifies a material offering but also a shared commitment to fostering improved living conditions for those within the prison system.

"It is important that we maintain acceptable hygienic levels in correctional facilities. The aim is to support the well-being and hygiene of individuals within the correctional facility. This act reflects a collective effort towards promoting better living conditions, emphasising the importance of empathy and care in our community.”
