SHORTS: Parliament introduces online platform for public engagement
Parliament has introduced a new online feedback platform to enhance public engagement with the National Assembly and National Council.
Parliamentary spokesperson Sackeus Kadhikwa unveiled the e-suggestion box, available on Parliament's official website, along with a video tutorial to guide users. The initiative aims to transition Parliament into an e-Parliament and improve communication with citizens.
Kadhikwa highlighted the platform's user-friendly design, encouraging citizens to share their thoughts and participate in the democratic process.
This development follows the launch of Namibia's e-Parliament Strategy in December 2022, aimed at boosting parliamentary efficiency and stakeholder interaction. National Assembly Speaker Peter Katjavivi emphasized the initiative as part of broader policy reforms inspired by lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic.
