REVERED AND REMEMBERED:
REVERED AND REMEMBERED: President Nangolo Mbumba on Tuesday unveiled the Chief Hosea Kutako Memorial Museum and Homestead Shrine at Toasis in the Aminuis constituency, Omaheke Region. Among many things, Kutako became deputy chief of Namibia's Traditional Leaders Council and chief of the Botswana Mbanderu people in 1951. Along with the British Anglican priest Rev. Michael Scott, he submitted numerous petitions to the United Nations during the 1950s and 1960s calling on the world body to end South African rule and grant Namibia independence. He died in July 1970 in Aminuis. PHOTOS: Namibian Presidency
