Opposition questions Geingob’s death

Opposition members of parliament have questioned circumstances around the death of president Hage Geingob. Lawmakers were given an opportunity to pay tribute to the late president, and some used it to cast aspersions on the manner the head of state died.

Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) leader Epaphras Mukwiilongo was among those who raised these concerns. Swanu’s sole member of parliament Dr Tangeni Iijambo also demanded an answer in this regard, saying the national intelligence service must investigate the death.

Speaker Peter Katjavivi dismissed the discussion.
