The government has announced that the Namibia Press Agency (Nampa) will be the exclusive producer and distributor of the new presidential portrait. Portraits of President Nangolo Mbumba will cost N$1 800 for a framed A2 print, and N$500 without a frame.

In a statement, information ministry executive director Audrin Mathe said the portrait "symbolises not only the individual who now holds the highest office in the country, but also embodies our nations aspirations, values and collective hopes".

Mbumba's portrait will replace that of late president Hage Geingob, and will be displayed alongside that of founding president Sam Nujoma.

Meanwhile, portraits of Vice-President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah are also available in soft copy, the statement read.
