#JustIn Works official arrested

A senior staff member of the Ministry of Works was arrested at the Otjiwarongo road traffic checkpoint for allegedly driving a Toyota pick-up which belongs to the government without a permit, permission or a trip authority to transport his belongings, along with a trailer full of animal fodder. The suspect and his co-accused allegedly removed the GRN number plates and displayed a private number. In the police report it was stated that the suspect allegedly filled up the vehicle with diesel using the card belonging to the government. The suspects are expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo magistrate court on Tuesday. Works minister John Mutorwa confirmed the arrest but said he could only comment and give a public statement once the suspects appear in court. UPDATE Jemima Beukes
