EU, WINDHOEK PARTNERSHIP CELEBRATED
EU, WINDHOEK PARTNERSHIP CELEBRATED: The ambassador of the European Union delegation to Namibia, Ana Beatriz Martins, paid a courtesy visit to Windhoek mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja this week.
Martins highlighted several successful collaborative projects between the EU and the City, including the Waste Buy Back Centre in Katutura. This initiative provides residents with an opportunity to contribute to environmental sustainability while earning income through the sale of recyclable materials. She also expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming completion of a second Waste BuyBack Centre, a project the EU is committed to funding.
Furthermore, the ambassador emphasised the EU’s ongoing support for various community initiatives in Windhoek, such as the Shack Dweller Federation, tree planting projects in Katutura and street art programmes. She conveyed her eagerness to continue collaborating with the City of Windhoek, particularly in projects aimed at enhancing the city centre through street art and increasing green spaces through tree planting.
