Firefighter
Freddie Jurgen Ndameshime
Freddie is a 31-year-old, self-driven firefighter. He was born and raised in Katutura, Windhoek. He is a single parent and highlights how much he loves his daughter. He attended high school at Jan Jonker Afrikaner and continued to study business administration at the International University of Management (IUM) but decided in 2010 to put his studies on hold. In 2011 Freddie dropped two jobs because his uncle made him an offer that he couldn’t resist. His uncle invited him to Oshikango to work at his furniture store. The biggest lesson that he has learnt is that firefighters spend so much time at work training to save other people's lives, forgetting that their families need saving too. He advises his fellow firefighters to spend as much time as possible as they can with their families. What he loves most about his job is the sense of brotherhood that there is in his working environment because it allows him and his colleagues to be open with one another.
