Joanivia Bezuidenhout: Tennis player
Joanivia Bezuidenhout is one of the best junior female tennis players in Namibia. At the tender age of 14, she was one of four players to represent Namibia at the Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group 3 tournament in Kenya, which took place from 12 to 17 June.
Born in the garden town Okahandja, Bezuidenhout’s love for tennis started at the age of nine on the cracked municipal courts of her hometown. She enjoyed it so much that she gave up netball and athletics, two other sports in which she excelled.
Kallie Heese, tennis coach at Kallie Tennis School, noticed her fire and drive and chose to mentor and coach her.
