Arlana Shikongo: Multimedia journalist
Multimedia journalism is a style of modern journalism that distributes news across a variety of channels, or over the internet in two or more formats.
Arlana Shikongo obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and after working in Ithaca and Chicago in the United States of America, she joined the journalism industry in Namibia. She has always been passionate about writing, social justice and human rights, and said journalism was the perfect bridge of all these areas of interest.
According to her, journalism is a demanding and thankless profession that provides people with narratives that assist them in navigating the complex world in which we live.
"It comes with restless nights and lengthy hours devoted to restraining power and using our words to paint pictures. Having said that, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”
