#JustIn: Crew of missing vessel safe
The deputy executive director of the works and transport ministry, Ueritjiua Kauaria, has confirmed that all crew members on board the rock lobster vessel named Newlands are all safe in Lüderitz.
The vessel was reported missing on Sunday, at around 13:30. The crew consisted of ten people, including the skipper.
Kauaria said the crew was rescued along the coast and driven back to Lüderitz.
“We are very happy with the preliminary report that confirmed everyone is safe and sound,” Kauaria said, adding that the ministry is still busy with its investigation into the matter.
