JUST IN: State's fish auction successfull

The Ministry of Finance and State Enterprises announced the proceeds of the hake auction held on 16 December 2022. A total of N$110.1 million was collected from the sale of 12,300 metric tonnes of fish, and from application fees of N$10 000 per offer. The ministry considers the auction a success because more than the input price was bid, and only 2 700 metric tons of fish were not sold. Three tenders were received for frozen fish, and seven for fresh fish. Fish quotas were allocated to each tender.
