Youth attend green hydrogen workshop

The Erongo regional government hosted an outreach workshop on a green hydrogen scholarship programme at the Mondesa Multi-Purpose Centre in Swakopmund this week.

This scholarship primarily targets graduates and individuals interested in advancing their vocational education and training in the field of green hydrogen.

Many students attend the outreach workshop for the Namibian Youth for Green Hydrogen (Y4H2) Scholarship Programme, a collaboration between the German government and the Namibian higher education ministry.

The programme is fully funded by the German ministry of education and research.

Across Namibia

The Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL) has been appointed as the implementing partner for the programme.

The nationwide outreach workshop is scheduled to take place from 18 to 30 September.

During this period, SASSCAL staff will visit all 14 regions of Namibia to engage with local communities, educational institutions, and aspiring scholars under the guidance of regional governors. The workshops will provide valuable information about the scholarship application process, eligibility criteria, and the broader goals of the Y4H2 Programme.

All interested parties, including students, parents, educators, and community leaders, are encouraged to join the outreach workshop and learn more about the Y4H2 Scholarship Programme.

"Together, we can empower Namibian youths to become leaders in the field of green hydrogen," Michael Jimmy said earlier this week.

The Namibian government leads in developing capabilities for this new sector, ensuring individuals are trained and prepared for future green hydrogen workforce opportunities.
