Normal rainfall outlook for start of 2025

Between January and March, normal rainfall is likely over the entire country, according to an outlook issued by the Namibia Meteorological Service (NMS).
The south and the extreme western part of the country are expected to receive rainfall below 100 mm for the season, while the remainder of the interior is expected to receive rainfall above 100 mm for the season, the NMS added.
The report noted that in November, a significant amount of rainfall was reported, mostly over the north-eastern half of the country.
Above-average rainfall was observed over a few places in the Kunene, Omusati, Ohangwena, Kavango West and Kavango East regions, while average to below-average rainfall was observed over parts of Kunene, Oshana, Oshikoto, Otjozondjupa, Khomas, Omaheke and Hardap regions.
"On a seasonal scale, below-normal rainfall was observed over Omaheke, Otjozondjupa, western Khomas and Hardap and parts of the Kunene, Oshana, Oshikoto and eastern Zambezi regions," the NMS added.
