Kupferberg landfill close to capacity

Windhoek mayor Queen Kamati yesterday said the Kupferberg landfill site is close to reaching full capacity as a result of rapid growth, which has led to an increase in the amount of waste generated by residents. She said in order to extend the lifespan of the landfill, council will have to commit approximately N$308 million to address the issue. She made these remarks at the official opening of the City of Windhoek stakeholders engagement workshop on EU-funded projects with a focus on improving solid waste management.
